Cristhian Mosquera nominated for Golden Boy award as Europe's best Under-21 player
Valencia CF defender Cristhian Mosquera is ranked 15th in the Golden Boy Football Benchmark Index of 100 nominees
Valencia CF defender Cristhian Mosquera has been included in the prestigious Golden Boy Football Benchmark Index list of the 100 best Under-21 players playing for clubs in European leagues, the first step in the race for Tuttosport's Golden Boy award, which names the best Under-21 player on the continent.
The centre-back trained at the VCF Academy has established himself this season in the Valencia CF first team under Rubén Baraja, demonstrating performance and personality, values that at just 19 years of age make him a player with great potential for the present and the future.
It is worth noting that the Spanish-Colombian player has managed to be the U-19 central defender with the most minutes played in the 5 big leagues (LALIGA, Premier League, Ligue 1, Serie A and Bundesliga) and, in addition, he has played more than one full season as a starter, since the 8th matchday of LALIGA EA Sports 23-24. This great performance with Valencia CF also led him, in March, to make his debut with the Spanish Under-21 national team.
Cristhian Mosquera is ranked 15th (76.4 points) in the Golden Boy 100 candidates ranking, which takes into account the on-field performance of players since October 2023 and considers players born in 2004 or later who belong to teams in the top 25 UEFA leagues by on-field coefficient.
